290 Series

In sizes ranging from 1/2" to 2", the new 290 Series Three Roll Expander will solve your condenser expander needs. No need to buy a new rolling motor; The 290 Expander will fit your current Elliott motor or torque control.

Elliott expanders do this by means of a set of rotating, parallel-rolling and self-feeding rolls which cold-work the tube joint metals until the tube ends fit tightly in the holes in the sheet. This occurs because the forces built up in the tube sheet reach inward toward the center of the hole, and those in the tube react outward.

Parallel-roll expanders roll tubes more uniformly than other types, thus developing maximum strength in the joint. Elliott expanders have adjustable ball- bearing thrust collars. A radius on the front of the rolls, prevents any sharp offsets inside the tube. The rolls have also been given a feed angle that assures uniform expansion and tightness of the tube in the tube sheet.

Series 1500 Elliott tube expanders are self-feeding for power driven or hand use applications. Expander will roll the tube parallel and smooth in the tube sheet hole and flare projecting tube end at an angle of 200 from center line in one operation.

These tube expanders are made for sheet or drum thicknesses from 1/2 to
2 1/2". The expanding rolls are sufficiently long to roll tubes 3/8" beyond sheet thickness listed plus a generous radius to eliminate sharp offset within tubes ... enabling erectors and boiler makers to roll tubes the desired distance beyond tube sheet, drum or header wall.

Series DRE Tube Expanders are furnished with an 8" reach and have an effective roll length of 2 5/8". Rolls are radiused on both ends to avoid sharp offset in tube. Total overall effective length 10 5/8". Mandrels included.

The Series DRE and the Elliott Series 1500 make a great combination of expanders for boiler tube erection or boiler tube replacement expanders.

Right Angle Gear Drives
Elliott Right Angle Worm Gear Drives were designed for maximum duty and service life and are expressly suitable for operating in very confined areas of boiler headers. The gear housing is specially shaped and the knurl shank is small enough to provide for expander feed movement when working thru a handhole. Gear drives "reach in", expanding tubes at right angles through a handhole.

The exclusive one piece steel housing and one piece worm and shaft assures complete rigidity, continued gear alignment and extended service life. For maximum service lubricate with Vital EP SAE 250 oil or equivalent. Select the proper square hole size when ordering.
