Tube Cutters

The Elliott Power-Driven Tube Cutter cuts tubes free of tube sheet fast and accurately. Cutter is adjusted to depth required and inserted into the tube. Forward pressure on motor causes cutter to extend, neatly severing tube and leaving tube stub in tube sheet. Tool is especially durable due to close-coupled cutter blade, which adds to its rigidity. When necessary, the cutter bit can be changed on the job, quickly and easily.

Note: Recommended for copper alloy tubes only. This is not a production tool and should be for hand use only. 3 1/2" reach standard. Other reaches available on request.

Elliott internal tube cutters Model #376 and # 396 come with 1" square drive and are designed to be power driven with electric or air powered drill motor. The mechanical feed system advances the cutter wheel causing the tube to be cut. These cutters will, cover 2", 2-1/2" and 3" OD tubes from 10 Ga through 16 Ga. (Larger sizes may be quoted upon request). Cutters are used in tubing new boilers and retubing old boilers to cut off the projecting ends of new tubes to a uniform length before beading tubes. Cutters may also be used in retubing operations to cut off the old tubes behind the tube sheet. Use of a tube cutter extension increases the cut off reach as required due to the different tube sheet and drum thickness. Internal tube cutters will cut steel and nonferrous tubes. The length from cutter wheel to front end of the tube cutter is 6-1/2". Bent tubes must have sufficient straight section before bend, to permit tube cutter to enter and operate properly.

Series M5230 pneumatic tube cutters will cut off projecting tube ends to a uniform length from tube sheet for beading. On fire tube boilers a counter balance is used. A right angle air motor is used as the drive motor. Once the drive motor starts rotation of the cutter, an air activated foot control is used to activate the air cylinder, which advances the cutter wheel causing the tube to be cut. (Example: 2 " 10 Ga. tubes can be cut in 5 to 10 seconds). Therefore one man can cut more tubes than two men using the 376 or 396 style cutters. The cutter wheel and cutter pins are easily and quickly replaced without removing the cutter carrier from the housing.
