Machining
H&S Tool has one of the most extensive inventories
of quality boiler tube tools in the industry. Each of these end milling
tools has a wide working range to minimize the number of boiler tube
tools required to cover all of your tube and pipe sizes.
Standard end prep tools perform outside and inside beveling, squaring
and stub removal.
Custom tooling is available for all of the end prep tools applications
including J-preps for orbital welding. See the special machining page
for more details on special end prep tools.
Tool holders are designed to perform as many as three preps simultaneously
with each of the boiler tube tools. Conventional speed tools feature
internal locking for maximum safety and accuracy. Many can be specified
as pneumatic or electric powered boiler tube tools.

Model J
The model J is specifically designed for use in narrow openings
such as dutchmans, window welds and close adjacent tubes
where only a narrow head will fit. Use the J for emergency
boiler repairs, panel tube machining and other pre-weld end
prep projects. Just 1-1/2" (38.1 mm) wide, the model
J fits comfortably in tight places and is easy to operate
with the right angle drive and wrench feed at the back of
the head. Internal locking on the model J makes it both accurate
and safe. Standard and custom tooling is available for the
model J to satisfy your specific end preparation requirements.
Single tube replacement for emergency boiler repair or small
panel tube machining jobs, the model J is perfect.

Model OD
The model OD is a beveling tool that features O.D. clamping and
a narrow head design. This 1-1/2" (38.1 mm) wide head enables
the replacement of a single tube, up to 2-1/4" O.D. (57.2
mm), in waterwall panels or other spaces with limited access. The
OD clamp allows for outside beveling, facing and even inside beveling
for projects where the tube I.D. is too small for internal locking.
It is also an ideal beveling tool for quick turnaround, single
tube replacements and window weld applications. The O.D. clamp
right angle drive with wrench feed in the back of the beveling
tool minimizes the amount of overhead clearance required.

Model Mini-B
The model Mini-B are versatile milling tools with a popular size
range that spans 5/8" (15.9 mm) I.D. to 3" O.D. (76.2
mm). Because this range is so popular, the Mini-B is one of two
milling tools offered for these sizes. The Mini-B is, as the name
implies, is more compact and performs many standard and custom
tube milling projects. It measures 2" (50.8 mm) shorter than
the model BR silling tools to fit in more congested spaces. The
lightweight makes it easy to handle tube milling in overhead tubes
while it delivers the power to machine chrome molley and stainless
materials. Internal locking holds the milling tools securely in
position for safety and accuracy.

Model BR
The model BR end prep tool has
a 5/8" (15.9
mm) I.D. to 3" (76.2) O.D. working range like the model Mini-B.
Two motors are offered to match the end prep tool to your specific
project requirements. The BR90 has a 90 rpm cutting speed for greater
efficiency and accuracy in machining heavier wall and/or harder alloy
materials. The 140 rpm model BR140 and the electric version deliver
enough speed to utilize the specialty cutters with replaceable carbide
inserts. Theses specialty cutters include the patented Multi-Prep® cutter
which performs O.D. cleaning or membrane removal and bevels the tube
end in one operation. Other cutters will simply clean the O.D. and
remove cladding from the full diameter of the tube or remove membranes.

 |
|
Model MB
Up to 4" O.D. with hard alloy materials and
heavy walls - the model MB beveling tool uses patented gear sets
powered by a reliable 1-5/8 h.p. pneumatic motor (1 H.P. electric)
to machine tube ends quickly, accurately and safely. Two motors are
offered to match cutter speed with the application. The MB55 has
a 55 rpm cutter speed for the heavier walls and standard cutter jobs
such as stub removal from headers. The MB110 turns at 110 rpm to
power specialty tooling with carbide inserts. These specialty cutters
include the patent pending Multi-Prep® cutter which cleans the
tube O.D. or is sized to remove membranes from between water wall
tubes and places an O.D. bevel on the end in one operation. Others
include removal of cladding from both single tubes and only one side
of waterwall tubes. The versatility of this beveling tool to machine
tube ends is made even greater with the choice of crank feed or wrench
feed. The wrench feed is designed for use in congested spaces where
the side crank may interfere with the operation.

Model MS
The model MS is one of the most
popular, most versatile models of tube and pipe beveling tools.
Not only does the broad working range of 1" I.D. (25.4 mm) to 5" O.D.
(127 mm) for tube and pipe beveling meet a popular material size
spread, a special J-prep cutting head for use with orbital welding
and a quality flange facing accessory is also available. The convenient
crank feed combines with special machining tooling to speed and
ease stub removal from headers. The large center shaft combines
with heavy duty bearings to produce a durable, smooth operating
tool while the patented gears deliver optimum torque and cutter
speed. Choose between the electric or pneumatic motor fo this tube
and pipe beveling tool to meet your specific requirements.
